Musing

Don't lose sight of your inner child.

"The creative adult is the child who survived after the world tried killing them, making them “grown up”. The creative adult is the child who survived the blandness of schooling, the unhelpful words of bad teachers, and the nay-saying ways of the world."

Inside My Studio

This month, local photographer Logan Werlinger spent some time with me to capture my studio and a bit of what it takes to make a Willi Nilli handbag come to life.

My dad made this enormous oak-topped cutting table for me. Here you can see multiple orders in various stages of progress.

This is my hefty Artisan Toro 3000 Sewing machine. I named her Bella.

I now sew very slowly… Bella has been known to send her needle through my fingers. Three different times. Respect the machine.

Sew, then trim…

Here I'm in my glue room, making leather roses for the rosebud bags.

And in this photo, my own pattern designs are on the wall, along with a  couple of my acrylic paintings.
